believe, create, promote
I've been online since 1998. And, even before social media was born back in 2005. I created my first website in 1996 through an online program called Homestead which no longer exists.
WordPress was available but I had to know html code which I did not. Homestead was an early "drag 'n drop" program and easy to use. A few years later WordPress grew into a more user-friendly blogging format. Social media was alive and booming with Facebook and Twitter. I created my first WordPress Blog in 2006.
Since then I have "grown up" with WordPress and today it is an exceptional blogging platform.
I've owned my Website for 20+ years until recently. I closed my website because I wanted a simpler website, online presence. And, I wanted to save money! Because it was costing a small fortune to maintain.
I'm also retired now and want to live a simpler life with less expense. But, I still wanted an online presence. I still needed a website! So, I found a solution for me which is what you are visiting now - this website.
Personally, I am legally blind and in spite of my disability, I continue to work online. I'm grateful for technology because I can work from home.
If you're retired too, creating a presence online can be exciting, rewarding, transformational and income-earning! I believe as a "senior" I have lots of things to share based on my life experiences. Just like you!
So, I started a program - Seasoned Social, a community on Facebook to celebrate and inspire retired people, even those with disabilities to create an online presence. There are many ways to do so. What's needed is support, direction, and a safe place to share life experiences and ideas.
Aside from being a website nerd, I like to make art, sell my products on Etsy, and ... review websites.
